Project idea [Sanbun Kyouden]Maso Mess translator looking ed

Postby Shadebalan » Sun Sep 23, 2012 7:51 pm

Hello everyone, I’m new here.

I know Kita from another forum and he told me about you guys.

The thing is, I have already started translating Sanbun Kyouden’s Maso mess, but I’ve no knowledge of image editing, and also I’d love to have someone helping me with my grammar and phrasing.

I guy named Cipher already translated ch.1 some time ago, but I don’t think he’ll keep doing it. So I started translating from ch.2.

Here is the link to the first eight chapters, in case someone is interested.

The first chapter translated

And chapter 9 (I uploaded it myself)

I think the art is great and I love the mind control plot here.

Anyway, please let me know if anyone is interested.

Shadebalan.

As for me, I sadly cannot vouch for timely releases if I were to edit it, not until RSY is finished. So I'll just show my support to you 8)

It would be nice if somebody wanted to do that.

I think there is someone else who might be interested in this one but he's an editor for another group.

I can talk to him about it, maybe we can do a collaboration or something. If that is okay with you/ the group?

I made a profile just to submit here, but I'd love to see this get translated. I've never done editing, typesetting or anything of the sort, but if there was some way I could help with this I'd love to.

Basic level editing is not hard. Read some guide, there's plenty. If you wanted to do it and talked it over with Shadebalan, I think I or somebody else here can help you with learning.

Some older guides I consider good starting point:
http://main.storminheaven.org/guide/main.html
http://www.questie.com/manga/ScanEditGuide/editing.htm
http://senbonzakura.kageyoshi.net/beginners-start-here/
Tools sometimes work differently or there's better way to do some things, but ideas stay the same.

Well, I'm very experienced with photoshop, and looking at the majority of the idiot's guide to editing I shouldn't have too much trouble. That page mentions some specific fonts, are there fonts that Munyu uses primarily? The only thing I guess I'd be worried about would be the sfx, but the guides seem to have some easy to understand solutions. If you'd like my help shadebalan I'd love to give it a try.

@akumakun:
I don't think we have something like font guidelines. If you want to look for some fonts, Blambot is considered to have some good and classic fonts.

I should note that Shadebalan seems not to be regular here and so it might take a while until he responds, it might be a good idea to to send him a mail or PM (which should on default send mail notification for new PM).
